BOB DYLAN, LA BIOGRAFIA. De ascendencia judía, a la edad de 6 años Bob Dylan se trasladó con su familia al pueblo minero de Hibbing. A temprana edad comenzó a tocar la guitarra con la cual trataba de emular a sus ídolos Johnnie Ray, Hank Williams, y otras figuras del rock and roll como Little Richard. Empezó a tocar en los clubes de folk de Greenwich Village. Una crítica de The New York Times llamó la atención de John Hammond, de la CBS, que le ofreció un contrato discográfico. Su primer álbum, de 1962, se tituló Bob Dylan e incluía versiones de clásicos de la música popular. Por el contrario, en su siguiente trabajo, Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, presentó trece canciones propias entre las que ya destacaron clásicos como «Blowin#in the Wind», «Don't Think Twice, It's All Right» o «A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall». El resto, hasta la concesión del Premio Nobel de Literatura 2016, ya es historia. Esta edición ampliada de la biografía clásica y definitiva de Howard Sounes incluye ahora un nuevo y último capítulo que completa la trayectoria vital de Dylan hasta su octava década. Publicado por vez primera en 2001 y ya entonces saludado por la crítica, el libro ofrece un retrato completo tanto del hombre como del artista. El proceso de documentación se alargó durante tres años e incluyó más de 250 entrevistas con la gente más cercana a Dylan.
