TIEMPOS BARBAROS, LOS. El volumen que cierra la obra completa de OPS, el alter ego más indomable de Andrés Rábago (El Roto). Edición al cuidado de Óscar Curieses «Un país sin memoria ni nostalgia, que ha visto crecer el musgo en los cantos de los libros y ha aprendido a sentarse con sobria elegancia en la silla eléctrica», así definía en 1973 el propio autor el lugar y la época que le tocó vivir, los tiempos bárbaros en los que andaba sumida España. De formación autodidacta, Andrés Rábago empezó a publicar, bajo el heterónimo de OPS, en revistas como La Codorniz, Hermano Lobo o Cuadernos para el Diálogo. Corrían los últimos compases de la dictadura franquista y sus dibujos, alucinados y dadaístas, retrataban el inconsciente de una época y ponían en tela de juicio su credo. Cabe decir que también supieron anticipar sus secuelas, sedimentos que aún nos atañen cincuenta años después.OPS y El Roto, actual heterónimo de Andrés Rábago, coexistieron durante una prolongada etapa hasta que, a mediados de los ochenta, el primero dejó de publicar. Las ilustraciones que componen este libro han permanecido extraviadas durante cuatro décadas, pero un feliz hallazgo en un desván permitió al autor reunirse nuevamente con todos losoriginales de su primera época. De ese modo, el presente volumen complementa al anterior, La edad del silencio, y junto a él conforma la obra esencial de OPS.
